A Surprising Gesture From Barry Bonds

This post is going to be different from my usual cursing Barry Bonds to the deepest pits of hell for tarnishing America’s game.

In case you haven’t heard, about a month ago a San Francisco Giants fan was brutally beaten and put into a coma for wearing a Giants jersey to a Los Angeles Dodgers game. The victim, Bryan Stow, is a single father with a daughter and son in grade school.

Soon after the attack Bonds visited Stow for about an hour in the hospital and signed a few autographs for Stow’s children. It wasn’t until now that news got out of Bonds offering to pay for the kid’s college education when they come of age. It should be noted that the visit occurred soon after Bonds completed a jury trial of his own, but did not mention the donation to the press.

Ok, Barry Bonds does have a soul and I commend him for this incredibly generous deed, but he still remains at the top of my sh*t list.
