"The Yankees Owe My Uncle"

Tanit Buday, a Yonkers, NY resident, is suing the Yankees on behalf if her uncle, Kenneth Timur. Tanit alleges that owners Jacob Ruppert and Del Webb hired Timur as a graphic designer and never gave him any compensation or credit for his work in designing the renown logo pictured above. Neither of those owners’ names ring a bell? That’s because the allegations stem from events which occurred in 1936. The accuser says her uncle did not copyright his work because of a lack of resources and trust in the Yankees.

Buday took her uncle’s work and the logo to a design analyst who concluded that, “They are so similar they could not have been created independently from another.” CASE CLOSED! I bet the Yankees lawyers will be really worried about this case when they receive the official lawsuit
