BREAKING NEWS: Bonds Found Guilty
After a twelve day trial and almost four full days of deliberation, Barry Bonds was found guilty of one count of obstruction of justice. He was also facing charges on three counts of perjury, a decision which could not be agreed upon by jurors, causing a mistrial. A sentencing date is set for May 20th when prosecutors and the Justice Department will decide to call for a retrial on the unresolved counts.
This made my day… There is no professional athlete I have despised more in my life than Barry Bonds. This man has tainted the sport which which I have loved my entire life, the same sport that America calls its Pastime (plus he’s a huge D-Bag). Bonds, along with Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa in 1998, broke baseball’s most coveted record through cheating. The same record which was once held by baseball greats Roger Maris and Babe Ruth before him. When Maris broke record, they marked his title with an asterisk* because he played more games in a season than Ruth. This record which Bonds know holds certainly deserves at least that much.
